One Stop Craft Challenge No. 48
The wonderful people over ay One Stop Craft Challenge have set the theme this week as "Die Cuts".
I don't have that many dies really, so I wasn't too sure what I could do with this one, so I spread out all the dies I had, and an idea formed in my head. I'm actually quite pleased about this card. I wanted to concentrate on the dies, rather than making it any fussier by adding a border etc.
Below I've detailed the dies I used for this card.
"Thanks" sizzlit die, "Grass" Sizzix die, Sizzix seashell #1 die and Sizzlits "Tropical Fish" die, Various cardstock bought from ebay and The Paper Mill Shop, purple and pink gems for air bubbles and the fish's eyes.
Thank you for looking at my card!
Just Christmas & Birthday Cards Challenge
I decided to have a go at the sketch that Karin from Just Christmas and Birthday Cards has given on this challenge. I was a bit shaky handed when I took the picture, so I'm glad the prize isn't for best photographer lol.
This challenge is open until Sunday 11th October.
The items I used were all from card and paperstock I already had, purchased from various places.
This was the sketch to follow, and underneath, the card which I made.
I hope you like it!

Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential!
Vicki is starting a new challenge blog a week tomorrow with challenges running every other Saturday and to celebrate the start she is offering some gorgeous candy to one lucky winner but it ends today so you need to hurry.
The blog is called Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential.
You can find the candy HERE.
The Sugar Bowl Challenge!
Before I start apologies for the wonky picture, all the other pictures I took came out straighter but were all blurred, this one was the best picture, my hands wont stop shaking as I'm not feeling too good tonight but I wanted to finish the card and post this blog before I went to bed.
This challenge is to make a card to the design that The Sugar Bowl designers have decided for this week's challenge.
The stipulations are that it must include a Sugar Nellie Stamp, which mine does, and that you must do "paper piecing", which I have done for the Sugar Nellie Stamp girl's outfit.
The closing date is midnight on the 7th October.

My lovely day
Have had an absolutely spectacular day with my daughter and son today.
I went shopping with my daughter for her 15th birthday and then we met her brother from work (he got a few hrs off so he could spend more time with his sister for her birthday). We then met up with the kids dad (my ex), and he and his new ladyfriend, myself and the 2 children went out for a meal together.
We then came home and watched the Hannah Montana Movie on DVD and then my daughter and I put false nails on each other and painted them. I've never tried these before, so goodness knows how my cards will turn out right now till I get used to them lol.I hope you have all had a good day.
Lots of love to all my wonderful friends xx
One Stop Craft Challenge No. 47
The wonderful people over at One Stop Craft Challenge have set the theme this week as "Beary Nice".This week's challenge will be on for the rest of this week.
I've got my teeth into this one as I love bears, so it didn't seem like a "challenge" at all!

Bookatrix first attempt!
This is my first go at Bookatrix. I haven't finished it yet, and will update this as it gets finished. I'm quite pleased with it, but I know I have a long way to go yet.
I started with a Cerise pink card and cut it out using the bookatrix board, on the largest size. Then I cut out a patterened blue and silver card, the next size down, and then cut a white one out the same size, but with the white one I cut the panels out, and then stuck acetate to it.
I still have to decorate it, so will update this once I have done it.
Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge
The Challenge I am going to enter today is the Stampin' for the Weekend challenge. The prize is a $25 spending spree at Simon Says Stamps.
I wanted a bright and vibrant card. I coloured the stamped image with my new promarker pens (why didn't i buy these before, they're excellent). Then I layered up some coordinating papers I got ages ago (to be honest I can't remember where I got them from) but they are such lovely colours that they were almost calling me to be used on this project.
I finished it off by cutting the corners with my corner cutter and then adding a brad and flower, with some ribbon dangling from it. Attached to the end of
the 2 pieces of ribbon are a heart and a loving couple shaped charm.

Today's ABC Wednesday Challenge
I had a look at the ABC website today and their challenge for this week is "D for
Diecuts", pop over there and have a go, I love doing this site's challenge!
I had a Bigshot flower die, which I used to cut out some green, yellow and brown glitter card, mixed them up to make the flowers. Then, I used the 2 largest Rectangular Deckle Edged Nestabilities Dies, which I got yesterday, layered them up and used these behind my new Sugar Nellie Manga Girl stamp which I stamped several times, coloured with my promarkers and then cut out and decoupaged.
Then I added some peel off's for the words.
Thank you for viewing!

Stampavie and More Challenge
The people over at Stampavie and More have a challenge with a Love theme. The challenge is on till the 8th September, I believe as it's a weekly challenge and they posted this on the 1st September.
Monday 7th September 2009
I ordered some promarkers from Joanna Sheen's website and they haven't arrived yet, due to a postal strike in their area and also due to the bank holiday monday. However, my nestabilities dies arrived this morning, so I am going to have a little play with them in a while and hope they work ok with my big shot machine! It turns out they don't so I have had to order a big shot multi purpose platform and 2 acrylic mats too. OK I wasn't too happy at having to order these, but I figure I will get my use out of it, and it's a one time purchase, I won't have to buy them again.
Hope you all have a good week.
Love,
Karen xx

Card I made for my friend's wedding anniversary
My photography skills left a lot to be desired here. I realised at the last minute that I hadn't made an anniversary card for my friend and her husband, so I had a go at making a Diamond Top Card and then embellishing it with a die cut from my Big shot, and then punching some heart shapes out as a border, with a peel off for the greeting.
Not the most elaborate of cards but I needed to make one quick so I could get it posted off in time for their wedding anniversary.

One Stop Craft Challenge!
I'm going to give this one a go today.
All you have to do on this one is to follow the template pattern they give you.Pretty simple really, even for me! Just visit One Stop Craft Challenge Blog. The prize is a Hampton Art Stamp. Good luck everyone!
ABC Challenge
For mine I was determined to NOT use any straight lines or squares etc, so I cut everything out of my circular punch and used dotty paper too, i layered the circles so the shape of the card itself was circular too. It's not the most colourful card or best card I have ever made but i tried to concentrate on the circular theme more than anything.
